INFANTS, TODDLERS AND TWOS

 Infants

Infants will experience a nurturing and loving environment, based on developing trusting relationships with teachers. Baby’s daily needs are met in a responsive manner, building bonds and a sense of security. Caring routines such as feeding, sleeping, and playtime provide opportunities to develop your baby’s cognitive, physical, and emotional development.

Daily reports are provided documenting feeding, changing, sleeping, and special activities. Developmental assessments are conducted two times each year, documenting your child’s milestones.

Toddlers (12 – 24 Months)

Toddlers are developing a real personality and are still growing rapidly. At Oakbrook Child Development Center, our role will be to encourage your child, offer them the freedom to explore, as well as set clear boundaries and limits for their health and safety. Toddlers are growing rapidly, as they begin to walk, run, and climb, they gain confidence and a greater sense of independence. At this stage, your child still needs encouragement and freedom to explore, as well as boundaries and limits to feel safe.

Families receive a daily log of their child’s sleeping, feeding, diapering, and learning activities. Developmental assessments are conducted tow times each year, documenting your child’s milestones.

Twos

Two year olds are filled with energy and are developing a sense of independence. Our Twos program focuses on a wide range of skills including those related to self-help, language, cognitive and physical development. The curriculum consists of units that are based on the children’s interests. The world at large is introduced and explored through songs, stories, imaginative play, and hands-on experiences that help to develop language, vocabulary, gross motor, fine motor, and cognitive skills.

Teachers communicate with families through the use of daily reports as well as weekly lesson plans and monthly newsletters. Developmental assessments are conducted two times each year, documenting your child’s milestones.
